What is a healthy weight for a leopard gecko?

How to spot a healthy leopard gecko.
Whether you’re in a shop, visiting a breeder or browsing at an expo, it’s good to understand what a healthy and an unhealthy leopard gecko looks like, so you can avoid poor, unethical breeders/shops, and buy a healthy animal.
Armpit bubbles.
I like to refer to these as armpit bubbles or armpit boobs. In my experience, they only occur in certain leopard geckos. For example, all of my leopard geckos are fed the same amount and supplemented the same, however, only one of my leopard geckos has ever displayed these pouches under his arms.
Obesity in leopard geckos.
Being obese is certainly not a good thing for a reptile, and it can be incredibly difficult to lose that extra weight. So, I made this video to show you how I managed to get my leopard gecko to lose 10g, and how others did the same.
Don’t do this with your gecko.
We’ve all seen memes of lizards in ‘funny’ positions or how cats and bearded dragons are ‘best friends’, but can memes be dangerous? Can they cause damage to your animals if you try to replicate them? Absolutely, and here’s why.
