Behavioural and appetite changes.

Throughout the year you may notice subtle changes to your leopard gecko’s behaviour and appetite. In this video, I go through observations I have made from my geckos month by month, season by season. These observations have also been noted by other keepers too.

Why is your gecko scratching at the glass?

I find that this behaviour occurs mainly during spring and summer, but why do geckos do this? I explain why I think it may be happening in this video, however, keep in mind, that if your setup is too small, too hot, or set up incorrectly, your gecko may want to get out of the environment. In this case, it would be a good idea to review your current setup and make positive changes to it.

Leopard geckos react to their names.

This is just a little sweet video I did to show my geckos reacting to their names. It is likely, just like dogs and cats, that you could say anything and they’d react to it, especially if it sounds like their name. But I think this shows that there’s more going on behind their eyes then most people give reptiles credit for.

Keeping your leopard gecko entertained.

Now it is true that leopard geckos don’t need as much external stimuli as dogs or cats, they’re not going to play fetch or need constant entertainment, but there are some things we can do to provide mental and physical enrichment.

Partial brumation.

Have you ever noticed that during the winter months your leopard gecko slows down and eats less? This could be down to partial brumation. This is a bit of an older video, but the information is still relevant.
